SWSO/LPI conducted advocacy training in Kismayo for Jubaland women platform on 23rd to 25th September 2020. The objectives of the training were to consider how advocacy could contribute to achieving the objectives of the Jubaland women’s platform at different levels of engagement, to explore advocacy concepts, styles, and approaches and learn how to develop an advocacy strategy. To reflect on the different interests and needs of the platform members regarding advocacy work, to review the core skills required for effective advocacy. Gather new skills to better implement advocacy activities in the respective district, Develop an action plan/ strategy that can yield effective advocacy outcomes. To build the capacity of participants to effectively engage communities to advocate for women empowerment and peacebuilding. To provide a practical introduction to some key elements of advocacy.
