The Somali Women Solidarity Organization (SWSO) today officially opened a comprehensive two-day training program focused on peacebuilding and conflict resolution. The training brought together 52 participants representing the communities of Goobweyn, QaamQaam, and Kismayo-Jubaland.
This capacity-building initiative aims to enhance participants’ skills in understanding the root causes of conflict, promoting dialogue, and applying peaceful mechanisms to resolve community disputes. Throughout the two-day workshop, attendees will engage in interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical exercises designed to strengthen cooperation and foster a culture of non-violence.
According to SWSO, the program is part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting community resilience and empowering local actors to take a leading role in sustaining long-term peace. By the end of the training, participants are expected to gain improved knowledge, confidence, and practical tools that will enable them to contribute effectively to stability and social cohesion within their respective areas.
